Stain Removal Service

Unfortunately, accidents happen, and sometimes they’re going to happen on your garments. The good news is that there are ways to make it right again, and it’s easier when you address the problem as soon as possible. The first step is to blot up as much of the spill as possible. Don’t rub it into the garment or scrub the stain into the fibers. Gently blot the spill up with a soft cloth or paper towel until you can’t get any more. From there, Maple Cleaners can help you remove stains from your garments using our stain removal service.

Wine Stains

Red wine goes great with a meal, but those stains do not pair well with your clothes. When that unanticipated drop of merlot lands on your favorite dress, let us help you get rid of your wine stains properly. Whether it’s a dark spot of red or a dribble of stray white or rosé, wine stains are tough, but not impossible to remove. Your clothes and table linens can be good as new again as long as you do not let the stain set in the garment by drying them. The home remedy is to use Club Soda, Vinegar, and Salt. If the home remedy does not work for you, then let Maple Cleaners help you get rid of the stains by using our state-of-the-art stain cleaning equipment and tannin stain removers.

Pet Stains

To clean up after a pet accident, we need to use special protein stain removers and enzyme cleaners. You can generally clean some of the pet stains like other stains: by blotting, not scrubbing, from the outside in.

Blood Stains

It happens! Whether you get a bloody nose in the middle of the cold winter, your little ones get bruises while playing in the backyard, or it’s that time of the month, sometimes blood gets on linens. So, how do you get blood out of sheets? Removing blood is no easy task, however, it is possible. The key is to be proactive and bring the garments to Maple Cleaners as soon as it is practical. Once the blood dries, it can leave a permanent mark. So, avoid home remedies unless you have already cleaned such stains successfully in the past.

Ketchup Stains

“Always have an extra bottle of ketchup on the shelf!” Some things just seem to go together, such as burgers and ketchup, and ketchup stains. Ketchup spills are inescapable. We suggest acting quickly. Remove any excess ketchup with a spoon or knife, but be careful not to rub it into the fabric. Avoid blotting the stain. If the garment requires dry cleaning, bring it as quickly as possible to Maple Cleaners and point out the stain. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to remove the stain.

Military Uniform Cleaning

We are committed to Military Uniform Cleaning for two purposes. First, it helps us connect and learn from the men and women who serve our country. Second, it makes us feel proud to make them look well-dressed. We want to make them ready to combat their day-to-day challenges. We find that having a military approach in dry cleaning such as writing down processes and avoiding any type of gaps in responsibility and communication among staff members are great ways to achieve higher quality and user satisfaction.

Experience in Military Sleeve Crease Pressing
Military sleeve crease pressing requires attention to detail. Our staff has experience in working on uniforms for customers serving Bolling Airforce Base, Fort Myers Base, Navy Yard, and Marine Barracks.

In most cases, we will match our prices with the prices at the Pentagon, Fort Myers, and Quantico military bases. Our objective is to remain affordable along with providing high-quality cleaning and pressing.

Uniform Alterations and Repairs
Our onsite tailor shall hem your pants, repair or sew patches, or adjust the sleeves on your jackets.

Military Pants
The following is an example of a U.S. Army Blue Uniform Pant Trouser which contains both wool and polyester materials. Our experience has been that keeping the yellow line sharp and clean is very important. Many inexperienced dry cleaners fail to understand how to clean such pants for clean and well-pressed results.

Military Jackets
The following is an example of a U.S. Army Uniform Jacket that has been meticulously cleaned and pressed at Maple Cleaners. These jackets are notable for being heavy and require a higher amount of steam pressure to ensure exemplary results our military expects.

U.S. Navy Overcoat Dry Cleaning and Pressing
These durable overcoats, unlike lightweight counterparts from Burberry or Nordstrom, weigh 5 pounds each. Cleaning requires extended dry cleaning cycles, higher temperatures, pre-spotting for stain removal, and a robust staff for longer cycle steaming and pressing!

Double-Breasted U.S. Navy All-Weather Coat
This coat features a 6-button front with a waist belt and two deep hand pockets and includes a removable zip-out liner that can be left out for warm summer months and easily zips in for colder months. Military Uniform Cleaning for this coat requires separating the liner from the overcoat to remove odors. The overcoat should be dry-cleaned at a higher temperature. The liner should be wet cleaned to remove any smells.

Security Uniforms

Security uniforms are similar to Military Uniforms in that they require longer cycle cleaning and quality press. We have served three security firms in Northern Virginia. To purchase Military Uniform Clothing, please check the Military Uniform Supply shop.

How to Clean Leather and Suede Jackets at Home

If you are short on budget and prefer to rather clean leather items at home, please check the following how-to guide. Please use extra caution concerning color loss.

  • Buy woolite from your local grocery store. The price at Giant on Maple Avenue in Vienna is approximately $9.00 for a small bottle. The comparative cost at your local Costco may be lower
  • Fill a bucket with water and pour 3 cups of woolite in it
  • Put the leather jacket inside out in the bucket for approximately 30 seconds. Check whether the color is leaking. If the color is leaking then wash the leather item with hands for 2 or 3 minutes. Then rinse it 3 times and hang dry
  • If the leather jacket does not leak color, then you can wash the jacket for 5 to 7 minutes. Subsequently, you can use the rinse and spin cycle in your front-loading washer
  • The procedure is almost complete. Finally, hang dry your jacket. Wait for 2-4 hours and lightly steam the inside materials
  • Once the jacket is clean, apply conditioner evenly with a cotton towel

Dry Cleaners Guide To A Bed Bug Infestation

It’s a horror story. A feeling when a bug sucks every particle of your entire body and brain in a flash of a second. Now, do you float on an event horizon and let it suck you up? Or, would someone rescue you and get you out of that dangerous spiral? That is how you feel when bed bugs hit you and your home. You keep your home clean. You teach your kids to keep everything organized. You never saw roaches or ants in your home. You feel proud of your family and yourself, but bed bugs will change all of those moments in a flash of a second. The scary thing about bed bugs is that they can stay in your home as long as human beings exist. They don’t mind a clean home. In fact, a clean home may even help them continue to sense carbon monoxide very well. You are not alone. Imagine how Macy’s and their staff felt when bed bugs hit them in New York City. What about the many hotels and theaters that were hit by bed bugs? Enough is enough! We are at war with bed bugs. Read the Dry Cleaners Guide To A Bed Bug Infestation!

Please read the following how-to guide on instructions for your home and your garments.

How to Clean Your Home After Bed Bug Infestation

You should first check your mattresses. If you see an infestation, then replace those mattresses and mattress pads with vinyl mattress covers which are sold at Target. Bed bugs cannot crawl on vinyl and this is the most important fact of all. Now, do not let your bed touch the wall. All legs on the bed need to be dipped in oil so that bed bugs cannot crawl up. Vacuum your bedrooms and the rooms in your home. Check your sofa for an infestation. If it’s summertime, then bring them to your patio or deck and bed bugs will go away in the direct heat of the sun. Now spray your entire home with a commercial bed bug treatment spray that you can buy online for about $60.00. If you have children, then take them outside of the home for at least 3 hours. After a week, perform the spray treatment again.

You will need to clean all of your garments to avoid any risk of keeping bed bugs hanging inside the seams. Separate all garments into two categories.

Category 1: Washable Garments

Wash them in a super-wash cycle and use an extra rinse cycle. Use ammonia or vinegar in your wash as long as the clothes’ color fastness allows them. Do not damage clothes by washing them in hot temperatures. Rather, wash with the temperature that is allowed by manufacturers. Do not worry if you have to wash some garments in a cold wash. Dry at a low temperature for more than 1 hour. Remember that the majority of professionals will recommend you to dry at a very high temperature. However, doing so will damage your garments!

Category 2: Dry Cleanable Garments

Now, separate the suits, jackets, blouses, skirts, and pants that have a dry clean only label. These garments should be dry cleaned in a tetrachloroethylene-based solvent. Remember that tetrachloroethylene has a very bad reputation and is even said to be carcinogenic, but it is the most powerful solvent of all. It will not damage your garments and will kill all bed bugs, including any eggs or traces! Ask your local dry cleaners to hang your clothes after pressing them for at least 1 day before they put plastic on them. By hanging them, the majority of the solvent will evaporate.

Between 2015 and 2017, we cleaned bed bugs-infested garments for more than 5 customers successfully. We are also happy to recommend several home remedies that can help you prevent bed bugs from coming in the future.
